FSSAI proposes ban on junk food advertisements in and around schools
In a move to curb the unhealthy diets’ reach to the school children, FSSAI has decided to put in place protocols to regulate the sale of food in the vicinity of a school. FSSAI officials are working on a draft that will prohibit the sale of such unhealthy food within a radius of nearly 50m of schools. In March 2020, the Delhi High Court had directed the food regulator to come out with regulations to promote healthy food for school children.
